My name is Sophie.
I’m from South Tyrol, Italy and I‘m turning 18 this year. I have been singing since I was a little girl, but it was never a dream of mine to stand on a big stage. My dream is to show people how you can show your emotions, let others look into your soul and help people with your voice. For 2 and a half years, I’ve been taking lessons with my teacher, Birgit. She helped me through a lot of tough times and with songs from different artists, I could express myself and my feelings. It’s unexpected art because people who have listened to my voice are surprised, emotionally-touched or it was just unexpected from their point of view. It was also really unexpected when Dr. Julian Ng and Dr. Urs Hauenstein wanted me to come and be a part of the Kent Arts Conference. It’s really hard for me to understand that some people actually love my voice. But it’s something I have to learn and I have to accept that I have a gift and that I can not only help myself, but also others. And that’s what makes it so special and unexpected for me!
Sophie will perform two songs to close Day 1 of the KArtsCon2022 Conference.
