Mirela Bardhoshi was born in a small Albanian village called Nikoliq and has nurtured a passion for foreign languages and communication since her primary school days, when she first encountered English.

Realizing her dream, she became a teacher. After high school, she studied foreign languages (English – Italian)  but her main interest was in Literature and the Albanian Language at the University of Tirana in Tirana. She earned a Master’s degree in the Albanian language and Teaching Literature.

Now in her eleventh year of teaching, Mirela works at “Sejdi Dida” school, striving to create an exceptional learning environment and improve her students’ abilities. Workshop: Crafting with Love as a Legacy

Presenting with Miranda Brati

Miranda and Mirela

Miranda Brati and Mirela Bardhoshi are sisters who not only share a passion for teaching but also a love for the arts. For #KArtsCon2024 they plan to do a bag charm or tassel keychain workshop.

Art, crafts, and handmade items hold a significant place in the lives of Albanian women, with a tradition passed down through generations. Our mothers have inspired us with their elegant and tasteful creations.

These crafts are a legacy, evolving with modern motifs and forms. Our goal is to preserve and teach these traditional crafts to the youth, infusing our culture with contemporary elements to keep it vibrant.

Currently, as handicrafts gain popularity in Albania, we feel it is our responsibility to promote this blend of traditional and modern artistry, not just locally but internationally. Handmade bags are among the items we showcase, as they play a practical role in our daily lives, adding beauty and fashion. The essence of art lies in working harmoniously with pure colours and in experiencing the profound joy of beautiful art, which is truly cherished.
