Bill Lewis was one of the six founder members of The Medway Poets and one of the twelve original members of The Stuckists, the group that spearheaded the International Art Movements of Stuckism and Remodernism.
He is a poet, painter and author of short fiction and was appointed Writer-in-Residence for the Brighton Festival 1984 and was the winner of the Literature Award at the Medway Council Culture and Design Awards 2012, for Literature.
His paintings have been exhibited in London, Liverpool, Paris, Germany, Iran and various galleries in the USA. He has guest lectured on Myth and Culture at The University of Eastern Connecticut and The University of Rhode Island, the Kent Children’s University as well at Adult Education and Prisons.
He has performed his poetry in the USA, Nicaragua, France and Germany as well as his native UK. His work has been translated into Spanish, French, German and Italian. He has also performed on BBC 2 and on Radio in England, America, El Salvador and Australia.
