For #CArtseCon2020, Gouhar will present:
“Art Online – a retrospective creation from Pakistani students”
Art has always been a source of providing creative solutions in difficult times. In the current pandemic scenario, human activities can be visualized in a fine way by turning ideas into performing artifacts. Truck Art, for instance, is a globally-recognized concept to attract people. In Pakistan, truck art originated in the 1920s when Bedford trucks were imported from England and then seen on the streets of the country.
In the field of academics, there was a need to involve art and design students to retain their attention in online lessons. The Faculty of Art & Design at STEP Institute of Art, Design & Management became the leading Art & Design institute in Pakistan to continue teaching through a blended learning approach. It is an interesting but challenging task to deliver outcome-based online vocational training.
The presentation will highlight the active involvement of young art & design Pakistani students in creative assessments related to several forms of art, inspired to create their products. It will show the importance of engaging art & design students through interactive and purposeful assessments through which these highly creative amateur minds perceive the pandemic and its associated factors in a country which is massively affected by COVID-19.
