KArtsCon2024: Regina Apigo – Exhibiting Artist

Regina Apigo

Regina Apigo is a UX/UI designer, writer and artist, who paints mainly with water-mixable oils. Her designs are for her clients and their customers. Her writing is often where she explores strong emotions and conflicts. Art, however, is where Regina explores what she loves…the love for fleeting moments, people and spots she’s connected to, and the beauty of nature that surrounds us, even in urban areas.

Born in Seoul and raised in Los Angeles, Regina’s art is influenced by her dad’s love of nature. In the way that her dad shared his joy by taking her to the oceans, mountains, forests, rivers, lakes and deserts of California, she shares through paintings, the people, places and nature that she loves. Regina has been part of a group exhibit at Ocean Gallery in Santa Barbara as well as solo exhibits at Anastasia’s Asylum and Borders in Los Angeles. She has also created pieces for private commission.

The COVID pandemic left behind a legacy of grief, deep political divides and new ways of working but it’s easy to forget the pandemic was also quiet and personal, a time when we tried to connect with the outside world through Netflix and Zoom, to nature with our growing collection of house plants and even to our own thoughts and families as we were abruptly released from the collective rush of routine work/school and social activities outside of home.
