“I have always loved stories that transport me to other worlds and places. I enjoy the escape they provide from a world of routine, everyday life. The first book that captured my heart, lifting me into the beyond was Asimov’s Foundations. I was 11.
Since that day, I have only read stories that give my imagination freedom to soar. Starting as a teenager in the nineteen seventies, I read as many of the traditional science fiction authors of the fifties and sixties that I could find at our local libraries.
Over the decades, I have enjoyed a wealth of Sci-Fi & fantasy stories from a multitude of writers including the amazing late Terry Pratchett (who I was honoured to meet). More recently, I have delved into the dimensions of the paranormal and alternative dystopias. Nowadays, I can usually read a complete novel in six hours.
All these fantastic stories influence my writing. My stories are threaded with elements that come from my real life, my experiences and my reading. You can catch glimpses of my passions from motorcycles and Karate, to my love of travel and all things furry.”
